Natural Stone & Fireplace Surrounds
Natural Stone & Fireplace Surrounds
in Lake County & the North Shore
Stone is less forgiving than tile — the material has movement, the pieces aren't identical, and every cut shows. We dry-lay natural stone before anything gets set, so the veining runs the way you want it to.
What's included
Everything, start to finish.

Common questions
Good to know
Does natural stone need sealing?
Yes, and it needs re-sealing over time. We seal on install and tell you what your specific stone needs so it doesn't stain a year from now.
Can you tile over an existing brick fireplace?
Often yes, if the brick is sound and flat enough. If not, we'll float it first. We check clearances to the firebox either way — that part isn't optional.
Is marble a bad idea in a bathroom?
Not at all, it just needs the right sealer and the right cleaner. We'll be upfront about the maintenance so you can decide with your eyes open.
